Title: North Carolina Belly Tank Project

   This is my first post on this forum, but I see that there are several projects going on around the country.
I have been actively building my tank car for about the past four years, but the idea started in 1994 when I decided to build something that for me was a different kind of project.
     I still have a ways to go, but I hope to be finished in the spring.The motor is a 1937 V-8 60 with Offenhauser heads. Eddie Meyer intake, Crane cam, And Mallory distributor.
      When I began this build, I wanted to be able to drive the car so I had to lengthen the tank 18" and figure out how to shift the transmission. These two things took the most time to figure out, but in the end I was able to make everything work.

Welcome to landracing.com and this Forum, Mr. Newbie, sir.  And thanks -- you're in the minority when you told us just where you're located.  You will, no coubt, be visiting with us racers at Maxton (Maxton/Laurinburg airport -- the East Coast Timing Ass'n, http://www.ecta-lsr.com/) this spring and summer, right?  We'd be happy to have you come share some exhaust fumes and exciting times.

As Jon (Seldom Seen Slim) had asked,,, what is your name ?  and welcome to this site and LSR.

I am Charles... I am located in Winston Salem area.. (Midway / Welcome to be more exact) so approx 30 minutes from you (depending on where your shop is...

Give me a shout sometime,, love to stop by and see that cool Belly Tank,,, you are also welcome to stop by and see my stuff as well.
