Great video Charles, thanks for sharing it with us. Everytime I watch a video of a car or bike going down the track it just drives me nuts. God I wish I had my car finished!!  It seems like it is taking forever. Anyway, good luck to all running this week at Maxton, run fast and be safe...............JerryO

Great footage Charles. What were you using for a camera?

PJ,,

The camera is a Hero "Go Pro"  170 degree wide angle.. out of the box,, sound quality was not as good as I would have liked but the whole deal was $ 180  with tons of mounting hardware...

I read the sound setting instructions after we used it  and found out how to set the sound better.. will test and let you know,,

I think for the money, with the ease of use and all the mounting stuff that came with it ,,, it is the best buy I could find.  They offer optional roll bar mounting kits for $29,, but with the stick on and suction mounts that come with the camera, I saw no need for the roll bar mounts at this time... As you saw the suction cup held real well over the few surface irregularities !! , even with 80 year old front suspension technology.

Terry, we went back to the pits and raised the float levels and jetted up 2 #'s front and back, by the time we finished the "big rain" came back... Then we got in line again and the rain came again.... so after we where soaked through to our socks and shorts,,, decided to load up and come home... I heard the last rain left as well and runs resumed for 2 hours or so!!!  wish I had stayed.. oh well..

That carb problem is bothering me,,, so we are headed to the chassis dyno to "get it right" for June,,, I hate tuning at the track.. I like to unload, tech, run, run, lunch, run , run,,, etc...  not work on the car at the track.

See you in June...

Tell Al to get well soon if you see or hear from him.

Is the  o-ring in or out of the housing?  I picked one up just like it for this year, and have been happy with the test runs so far, but hsve the same static type sound coming from mine as well...

Stainless,  I took the white O ring out and think it is the reason for the static,,,, I did a tesr run in my street roadster and with the o ring the sound was low and faint and no static,,,

I am going to put the o ring back in and use the hi volume setting (low is the default setting)

Hope that clears things up,,

Hey Joe,  thanks for the cool pic... See I took off easy and did not spin the tires... even with the carb sputtering and short shifting that was my fastest run.

The record got bumped last event to 152.xxx.. so my 149.6xxx was a less than 3 mph below the record... as you can hear from the video, I was not wide open in first or second and only full throttle at 1/2 track with some carb tuning still needed.

Hope to hit the chassis dyno and get all the bugs out...

Thanks again for the starting line photo...

Can you email me copies please.. you take great pics !!!

Joe,

Thanks for the kind words.. I know you like Studebakers !!!!  I sure hope my 53 Stude comes out as good or better than my 33 Vicky !!!... we are making progress...

I need to get my carb tuned, the run on the video was 149.6xxx  I sure need 152.xxx to get the record,,, I know the car can do it,,,

See you all in June.
