The May event at Maxton brought 5 new nitrous Fuel records for Tiger Racing and a new jockey too.
Dave Owens graciously accepted my offer to give me some feedback on the "Tiger's" operation, chassis setup, yada, yada, yada. Damn if he didn't go fast and break 2 more records himself. He went a blistering 221.4mph and came within 5mph of the track record ( mine...223.8 ) and won $100.00 from Tiger Racing.
Way to go Dave and congratulations on some damn fine riding.
(http://www.tigerracingproducts.com/images/dave1.jpg) Dave suiting up and getting last minute advice from Guy...like he needs any advice.

Congratulations Dave on riding the "Tiger" to 2 new Fuel records.
Let's see, I post the reward, loan my bike to win the reward then I pay him the reward ](*,) Dave rides the fastest aspirated Hayabusa at Maxton and is a great tuner and friend.
Don't worry Wayne, you're next.

thats cool.......fastest one way 132 ft record !!!!!
congrats Guy, I am quite confident that you will
exceed 230 this year and be the "fastest" nitrous
bike ever!!!
definately the fastest sanctioned nitrous record
from a standing start in one mile!!!!!

Joe,
I was quite surprised that I had done so well until Scotts post. But doing it on an old school 1000 and doing it for 3 timed miles has got to be brutal. Your record is still the holy grail as Scott said. You would get a kick out of riding on the concrete for sure. I have been tuning to torque curves rather than HP and I think we are getting a handle on the EGT's now. After having DaveO ride the bike and with his feedback and watching the bike go thru the traps, I have chassis issues to deal with and shift point issues. I should have them resolved for October. I really, really, really want to break 230mph. That would then make me content for at least that winter. \:D/
The Maxton Mile is really it's own LSR world because of running on the concrete. You just can't compare the speeds because it's a totally different tuneup. I would never last 3 timed miles.

John & Joe,
I wished I had you're futuristic insight. If I can go 226 or 7 I'll be shitt'n bunnies. John seriously though, your pistons are the shitz. They can really take a beating.

Guy has impressive pedigree as well........
JE pistons, so good, the exhaust port will
go away before they do............
Nitrous..........gooooood for business.....
I dont care what John says, I thing Guy

No, I THING he will go "even" faster... :D

Guy has shown some traits that are very important to success in his quest for "fastest nitrous."
He is willing to ask and learn.
He is willing to ride faster than he was comfortable riding before.
he is willing to pick up the pieces and try again.
he has fun doing it.
Picking up pieces, now that I can relate to. Having fun? Hell yes I'm having fun,how can you not? Up to now, I have only been spraying once I hit 4th gear. Now that my tuneup is stable, I'm going to try 3rd gear next time, should give me an extra 2-3 mph if the tire will stick.
It's funny how fast a certain speed can become lethargic so quickly. Must go faster...
