Title: September 2008 Maxton Meet
Post by: DahMurf on September 26, 2008, 11:09:16 PM
We teched from about 2:30 today until dark. Literally until dark, we finished by flashlight. We have about 15 bikes left over to tech in the morning from tonight. We gave out numbers so they can hit the front of the line. We teched until it was dark. BTW Guy if you're reading this, we went up to number 34 I believe. I initialed the ones I gave out. We should be starting somewhere close to number 18. We're hoping to be out around 7-7:30 to get on teching as well. I expect a bunch more bikes. This is the big Super Streetbike Shootout so there's some jackets on the line along with the usual shot at a record.

This is shaping up to be a big meet with some heavy hitters showing up. Charlie is here pushing for 260. I hear Lee Shierts is coming as well. hmmm. WildBro Bill is here with the naked beast looking for a big number and I hear whispers that there may be some bodywork stuffed in his trailer?

Deb,  When do you and Todd sleep?  You guys are hardcore!!

I hope the weather clears up for the event.  I hope to see big #'s from the regulars.  Best of luck to all.

BTW if there are fairyings in the WildBro trailer someone planted them! :-D

Sad news from Maxton.  Terry Russell just called.  Bike down at the end of the track. Rider didn't make it.

Nice shirts... hopefully they will continue to remind you of the good times on the salt with my kids, Johnboy and me not to mention the thousand other new friends.  BTW kids, World Finals is next week, how's the ailing checkbook?  Probably get y'all a pass on the bike open, or try for a 2 with the fairings on...

Oh now you had to go and say it... and publically even!!!
I'm for sure out for this year! I'm tapped on vacation time. If you can find a way to smuggle Todd out there & get him in a shared expenses room I might let him go!  Anyone driving out from the East Coast?  :-D

They will definetly continue to do their job & we will wear them proudly! You know what kind of impression that place left on us! ;)

Todd, if you can get to Wichita Saturday morning or Denver by Monday at 2 you can ride with me, or SLC Tuesday by 11, (boys arriving 1030 on SW Air, they have a car rented, they return Sunday afternoon) or catch a ride with an East Coaster, Room cost is fully covered...
How's that for feeding the addiction... sorry Deb  :|

Deb and Todd.  Tell Jerry it was a pleasure meeting him and seeing his Car.  He did a great job with the Sedan... It was cool to get a pic with us and the two Old Fords together.....

Can you send me a copy of that pic to my email?

Thanks

Charles

Deb, by the way.. I made 3 runs this past weekend and each of them beat the prevoius record.. The more seat time I get the faster the car goes !!! .. I had a driver error brain fart on my first run and let off at the first cone... hmm   the second run, I launced the same way and picked up 6 MPH and then on the last run, I left the line with the engine 20 degrees warmer and picked up 4 more MPH,,,

I now think I have figured out what temp the car likes to leave at and how many RPM's she likes to stage at.... Hope to see you in October....

Looks like his only hope is Tuesday. I think I found one flight that will get there at 10:33, the rest all arrive at 12:47pm. Of course the earlier flight is an extra buck25!  What time is their flight out on Sunday?

(I can't believe I'm looking all of this up!  :-D )

Debbie (there better be at least another nice shirt in it for me!)

As far as getting me back in one piece... well Stainless, that may be a task figuring I haven't been in one piece in a very long time.  :-D

Well it's 4 PM (Sunday) on the west coast and if he hasn't cancelled his plans by now he can leave his helmet home and bring a surf board.

Deb, revise your plans. He's unpredictable and may still have his feet under your table afterall.

I left a message on the shop fone so your employee will know to get there on time. The cats still home.
