I should be there unless my new ignition doesn't work, or the car blows up on the dyno.

2004 MACH1 Mustang, that was with the stock motor and a 75 shot of nos and 4.30 gears (using 5th gear). I ended up running 155 on motor with long tubes intake spacer tune and 3.27 gears. The car was run with the upper grille blocked off, no rear spoiler and a flat corba hood.

Thanks Mike,
Was that motor was 300 HP in stock form ? I would guess with the headers, intake spacer and computer tune you picked up 45 to 60 HP? So without the juice yoh had about 360 HP and 75 more on the juice ?
Just wondering... I have one stout E motor now, just thinking about possibilities for a D or C motor .
I think at ECTA, even with my E motor, I can run up a motor class to D ? is that correct ?

You can run up in class.
The stock motor made 280hp and 300trq to the wheels. on nitrous it made 330hp and 425trq to the wheels. The headers spacer and tune made 323hp and 350trq to the wheels. The biggest change that was made was the gear swap not shifting fiifth gear made a world of difference. I couldnt run the nitrous with the headers b/c of saftey equipment issues but It probably would have gone 160's fairly easily. But I would have had to chang the gear again to a 2.XX ratio b/c I was out of gear on motor. It turned right at 6500 through the traps in 4th gear.
The bigest thing I learned so far is that finding the right gear ratio for your powerband and max rpm is key to success. Also the least amount of times you can shift the better it is just one less thing to go wrong, not to mention that every time you are shifting the car is not accererating (most cars with stock type trannies, Auto and clutchless not as big of a problem).

I agree about gear ratio. For Maxton I need to turn more RPM's in High Gear... My Motor is a dog below 3500 rpm's, for a little motor it makes big power from 4000 to 8000 but turns 8400 (Have a 8200 chip in ).
I have a 325 rear gear now (9" Ford with Locker 31 spline) Like to find another complete third member set up with anywhere between 3.70 and 3.90 gears to try it...
See ya next weekend...

Man that is one NICE car.How well did it run?

I made 3 runs this weekend, each run was a Record... I had the E/CGALT Record in June at just over 126.xx, Run one on Saturday afternoon clocked a 130.xx for a new Record, This morning made a 136.xx pass to up Yesterdays Record. (but launced with motor to cool), last round today, warmed engine to 180 and then made a 140.xx pass to up the Record again,(my fasted pass ever in the car, only my 5th pass ever)...
Car was smooth and straight, the front end alignment cured the wandering. Still very fat in first gear from idle to 5,000 rpm, but from 5000 to the chip she pulls strong... Need to launch her harder in Oct..
Not bad for a little 255 inch motor on gas ???
See you in October.

Cajun..Contact one of the NASCAR suppliers for "special" non standard 9" Ford ring and pinions, possibly Tex Racing. I bought a polished 2.86 off e-bay for $15.00 plus shipping. I bet there are 10 or more sets between 3.00 and 2.70. Good Luck. If new hang on to your wallet if used I bet not so bad....................................JD
