Everyone have a great race week end and get them records, wish I could be there :-D
-
Glen,
We wish you could be there too. Sounds like it will be thermal conditioning for Bonneville.
It would be nice to have a low starting number, but that's earned, oh well!
Good luck to all.

I am starting at 59 my lowest number yet. Last month a I was 179 and the meet before that I was 205.
I am excited about the chance of actually getting in two passes.

3:40 p.m. on Saturday and it's 105 at El Mirage.
I can't complain. I work in Van Nuys in the San Fernando Valley and it's 108, as it has been for the last three days.
-
Screw the weather..... It's the $400.00 in diesel fuel for me to get there

Just heard from El Mirage,
Congrats to John Noonan, went 218 on the sidecar and an amazing 240 + mph on the unfaired busa "Yellow submarine" in A/BF 1350 cc which had a class record that was set at last meet at 214 mph.. That is just amazing on an unfaired bike at El Mirage.

We put 6 miles on the C/GS record. :-D It's 229 now. Wayno
-
Not bad for a bunch of old guys Wayno.
-
The lake bed at El Mirage is an extremely fine dust that pretty much kills air cleaners.
It's also slippery.
The fast guys understand this and adjust. You see a lot of fish-tailing off the line. A lot of guys are off and on the throttle.
Noonan sounded smooth through the whole run. One of the best in the business.
Normally a pretty smooth character, he looked absolutely giddy after the run. :-)

I do not consider a few tears being giddy , I was so proud of my team and how well all of our vehicles ran at the end of the day.
I had wanted to run 220 on the sidecar and 230 with the naked bike however I will take the 240.197 all day long! Looks like the most naked bike I have ever seen that still runs, no bodywork, gauges, headlight or bracket etc..
I will post a race report and more pictures later.
