I have always suspected that about you.  :-D

Argument makes you think about your position even harder.
Bringing up a point of view doesn't even have to reflect your true feelings, but it does tend to make others think so as to increase their depth of thought, and bolster the courage of their convictions.
Perhaps LSR Sidecars will someday return to the rule that stated "The operator must demonstrate they can be accommodated aboard the sidecar to guarantee a minimum size".

If they were on the Internet or a CD like some others, there would be more time, thought, and associated input given to their formulation.
With a CD, they can easily be sold, reproduced, and drop shipped as the demand fluxuates.

Dyno, I'll be the first to critisize the AMA as they now stand, but. They already have 5 Pro racing rulebooks  available online as well as the Pro-Am rulebook. Also available are the 8 supplemental rulebooks for the varied disiplines... :-D

More importantly they are all available "online"...

And, the claiming rule that mysteriously dissappeared in '07 has been reinstituted...

The same(or even 1/2 of the) fee could be charged as a pre prelease for the rules(and the updates if made available during fall or early winter as well). Not to mention the cost being cut by at least 80% on all these sales, and mid year updates(addendums) could then be done before the following year(maybe even as an uploadable provision of the inital purchase?).

The amount of traditional bindings would still get sold for the most part as they will always be the prefered method of browsing the rules and records in the more common surroundings.

The digital version would be quick to get out and half the price at an increased profit.. all while causing the general membership's knowledge to increase, and the organization's bad mouthing to decrease.
I imagine the profit would even outwiegh the pirateers influence that some have used as an excuse against.

And here I always thought progress was the greatest tradition of them all?

I am certain the Dan and Todd and anybody else who has written racing rules will agree it is somewhat like "wrestling"
O.K. the 2008 rules for the BUB have been completed and should be on the BUB site soon.
Take a close look at them....there are some minor changes...................one being Dustbin Fairings
(yes, they are still allowed with some restrictions)
The other in seat/fairing lenght in APS...............

Thanks Jon, it is great the forum is back..............

I got mine in an email the other day. Haven't had a chance to go over them much, but. I think i saw where to qualify for a record now you must equal or surpass the existing record. No more within 5% rule. No more lapping till you set a record. That should let everyone have a fair chance at making a reasonable amount of runs. I know I'm having withdrawals.

I'll second that. Thanks, Jon, it IS great to have the forum back.  :-D

The misuse of the original rule of 5% was abused. equal to or above the current record (most of them in the 1970's) is a great call by the BUB and AMA people.
