I have some pictures of a comp coupe that Phil, Bill and Jake of CarWorks are building not too far from me in Colorado and how I made a frontend and scoop for it. They won't set any records with this car, but I expect them to have a lot of fun with it.
They will be pitting with us and Hooley's Stude and will have one other car with them that I'll post about later.

Ironic - My buddy and I were at the local cruize last Thurs eve admiring a '41 Ford coupe and he says "how about a hood something like that for the nose of the Lakester?" My smart answer was to the effect much too wide and much too difficult to make work to make it worthwhile. You made it seem so easy, we have another option to consider now. Thanks for showing me the light.

A lot of peoples first impression is that the front is a boat, but it isn't (follow the link). They had an open house a week ago and one person took some tape and taped his idea for the name of the car on the door, "The Beak",

Back in the late 60's, me and a friend of mine used a boat made by welding two 40 Ford hoods together. We were trot line fishing and dragged this thing across a farmers corn field, boy did we tear up his corn field..

The Crissman Bros. famous Bonneville coupe had two 40 Ford hoods for a nose, there were others that have used hoods for nose pieces as well. :?

Yep, what a great car Glen.
Phil has two hoods, but the second belongs to a customer. If we have time we are going to try and make some sort of air dam under the current hood.
The other hood is on loan for a "racing bed" we made for his wife a week ago one evening so she could go "bed racing" this past weekend. I don't know the results of that yet,
