About a year ago, I realized that I was not gonna make Bonny.
So, I have a year, what if....
It all started with a sketch. Get the turbo mounted in front of the motor. Loose the tank and OEM backbone...

The willing victim...

Hmmm, start with the Y-pipe.

cool, keep us updated on progress the build diaries is becoming a great section... Good start on project, on paper then results.
Its hard to sometimes find a place to start on a project, I do know of a very successful motorcycle streamliner team that didnt start with any sketch, just had it in their minds, and first piece built of whole project was the outriggers, and built from there...
So far the only thing I can offer is make sure to build a good support system for the turbo. Plan a good -10an line for oil return.
Another FYI, when you are logged into the forum, goto http://www.landracing.com/gallery ,you should already be logged in from the forum (uses same username and password), and you can create your own album and upload all your build photos there and link to them from here.
Keep up good work Dakin

Many thanks to eMachine for some easy to use CAD freeware
Jim, the intercooler is being developed along with the EFI...

do you have a date for completion? Is this strictly a bonneville build?
-
I can't seem to quit tinkering, so the "completion" date is variable.
Yup, Bonny only.

The extended swingarm with oil tank and battery are from my old bike 8788.
New tail and subframe houses the new fuel tank.

Gary ....you're gonna need a bus to take 'em all to the lake soon :-D.............speaking of home projects , a guy I used to work with and his cousin turned up on the weekend with his CBR , a scrounged carbon can and a piece of pipe .."weld this up for me"....ummm , you know what exhaust jobs can be like , more often than not they're a bloody disaster...anyway I got it happening , got everything tucked and sort of in the right spot, looked pretty good ( it's a bitchin' lookin bike!!!) " I'll just take it for a run".....So , we're in the shed , we hear a worriesome "BLAART!!!!"....the Reverend looks at me with a cocked eyebrow...I walk out the front and the cousin is standing there and says..." f***** idiot nearly highsided it"......he comes back , pulls up and flutters his hand over his heart and then makes a rapid clenching action with his hand.....apparently it's got a bit more bottom end than it used to have :-o ........sometimes you get lucky!!!
Good luck with the Sporty Dakin ......BTW your workbench is even tidier than mine!

That's not a workbench, it's how I disguise my development photos. :-D

When I tuned in this morning, there was my baby on the Random Image's.
#216 '04 WoS, no runs. This is the same bike and motor, mostly.
Cut to the chase; I fired her up for some road testing today.
I also made a tape.
