Nice job, clean. You still have a couple of months to finish it.

Nice indeed. Please don't take this the wrong way, but why?

I thought I would do something a little more mainstream.. RF

This is mainstream for Rich. While most go the SBC/BBC route Rich is the salmon going up stream to mate.

Rich,
What size is that early model injected hemi in the background of the picture.
Oh by the way the Packard is very nice also.  :-)
Tom G.
PS. Does the hemi fit in the vega?

I saw it first and was keeping quiet about it hoping you all would look at the Packard.

It's a '92 +.030 and it came out of the Vega to make room for the Packard. Also Dan, I don't care what anyone says, I have never mated with a Packard.

Is that because the Packard was a Clipper?

Is that because the Packard was a Clipper?

It was from a Patrician and now I am more worried than ever.

On the outside chance some one has not seen an assembled Packard in a Vega, this is it.

Hey Rich...

Somebody put a Packard in your Vega....

That is just so wrong in so many ways...

That engine looks great though!

At least the smoke is going the right way and not like some of the Flattie Sorta Fords.

The best reason to build something is that it is wrong. Great looking car. The Packard engine makes it unforgettable.

I have been having the results of an infection removed from holes in my head. Feels like I need to go back for more. i sent the car up with two friends who have not done this before. So far it has not gone well. I understand the first run was way to rich. Better safe than sorry. The second run may have been rich and maybe he started in high and tried to shift into second at 3000. Not sure, but he gave up on that one and turned 110, I hear. Third time in line a wheel cylinder began to leak and they called to tell me they were putting it on the trailer and coming home. Not sure if I talked them out of that, but I am sure they will leave tonight. I am a little disappointed.

Sorry to hear all of that Rich.  Does the car have brakes on both ends??? Which one is leaking??  Can that end just be blocked off??

I finally got around to reading the spring Bonneville Racing News and enjoyed your article on "mixing & matching engines, flywheels, etc.".  Very good info :-).

Get well and go to World Finals,

They took my advice and added brake fluid which brought the brakes back, started in second and shifted to high and it died. So it's coming home. I'm interested to see if it has gas in it.

Sum do not feel alone. I had gas in the tank but the rev limiter was still set for last years engine. Well all I can say that its not the worst mistake I ever or will make. Heck turned out good I did not break any parts! Note to self add checking rev limiter to check list. No harm no foul!  Vince
