Hey, hey, hey! My brand-new Joe Rocket jacket arrived today, along with a couple of embroidered patches, proclaiming that I won my class in the Top Speed Challenge at Maxton this past September. Dang, nice jacket for a 31-mph putt-putt down the track on our pit bike.
Thanks to everyone that made this possible (by NOT bringing your GSXR-600 or ZX-6R or R6 to the party) as well as the ECTA for hosting the event, and Super StreetBike magazine/Don Smith for promoting it.
Maybe next year a few more folks will enter in the "lower" classes. . .

I think you should have to have your speed stiched on the front! :-D

He would have gone faster but those size 14 boots looked like canards on an airplane. Maybe he was using them for traction control.

Yeah Glen(lmao).. I think if he placed his legs correctly over the bars he may be able to run them as a fairing without actually having to enter a PS class? As Paul Batts always says.. "Flaps Up"!
Heard rumor Slim may try spraying it(can of starter fluid) or a 2 stage turbo(Nancy's hi and low hairdryer) next year.... just an FYI for those working on their 600's this winter.

Where he lives a jacket is very important.
You won't find a DB with a jacket on.

31.3 mph. Well, if it were easy anyone could do it. Rumor has it that Jon (Slim) is the acting president of the newly formed 20 MPH club. He is also the first member of their 30 MPH Chapter. First order of business is to pick a color for the official hat . . . . the second item on the agenda is to set MAXIMUMS for the class records.
Stay warm Jon. Your winters may to cold but your summers are really nice All three days are sunny . . . . . .

Perposed hat colors 20mph club yellow-30mph club pink

Being a M/C deal, just GOTTA have another class
What's next? Something like the old field meet deal sitting at the start line on a Bimmer with the front wheel cocked sideways waiting for the clock to run out? :-D

It's nice that Slim could overcome his fear of being close to the ground and layed down such a super number. Watch for him to wear his new coat as he juggles the portapotties in August.

Jealousy is an ugly thing. Just because you had the skill, dedication, and planning to pull off your stunning run. I was there. I saw it. It was awesome! You've thrown down the gauntlet - let's see who has the chutzpah to pick it up.
Like with Tonya's license plate - it ain't bragging if ya done it.
See you soon Dan

I've got a photo of me leaving the line -- as the wallpaper on Nancy's side of the computer. I'd post it if I knew how, but it shows me leaving -- and I had the foresight to position the pit bike just right.
There's me, moving away, with the rear tire centered just right over a black stripe (that somebody else had the courtesy to leave). Now if I could use Photoshop I'd add a bit of tire smoke and have them all wondering.
Hey, it was Don's suggestion that I make that awe-inspiring run. I will admit that I have never made a land speed run while laughing as much as I did during this one.
Maybe somebody will outdo me in '07 -- find an unoccupied class and make an even slower pass. Todd, you could do it -- I know you've got it in your race fleet.
