Not having a national stay at home directive is like having a peeing section in the pool. Don't wait, Do it!
I spoke with a friend of mine last night, he drives Semi truck. He had a run from Utah to Elko Nv, on Thursday. He stopped in Wendover for Fuel and he said that all the Casinos and Hotel parking lots all have huge concrete barriers at the entrance ways, and there is Security making sure those don't get crossed. He said on his next run out there, he would grab some pictures of this. What's your take on the stupidity down there Clay, or anybody in UT, you're part of that mess?
He said the the truck stop was open, but very limited on what food items and such could be purchased.
Thought I would let you know
TIA
Clay
Sid, from what I read Gary Herbert the governor of Utah did not want to issue a "stay at home order" because it might create a panic. He'd rather have them infected than panicked, we're governed by idiots!
Don
Here we were one of the first states to get the virus. It was in the general population in mid February. We self isolated in late February and the surrounding area, that is all I know about 'cause I do not go anywhere, is taking this very seriously. Only 21 deaths in Oregon so far. You can draw your own conclusions about whether or not these measures work.
the MEDIAN age of the group was58 years!
No problem.
We're such a draw, we get paid to appear (rain out or not).
I understand you V4-F-B-G-F guys have to pay a premium because of the expense of collecting your greasy parts from the courses. Lucky for the association, the usual carnage is in the first mile and can be driven around by those that use the whole 5 miles.

The best advice you can get about attending one of these events is to have a conversation with your doctor. This is something that a lot of us do not do.
William Perry Pendley of BLM says everything they manage is open.
I did get a notice from BNI that they are extending registration until May 15, so it sounds like they are trying to make Speed Week 2020 happen. Sure hope the salt keeps drying and hardening.Yes, I got that poster looking email with forms as well. It says online to the 15th, but at the track after. In contrast to the Facebook post I referenced above (reply #50) which says online will be available after the 15th. Leads to the obvious "which is it?" question. I asked, no response so far.

Wow! Imagine that! Only a little more than 3 months away and it looks great!
Make you plans. Figure it all out. And then, 3 or 4 days before the event, check again. Or show up and see, when you're there, it's shitt.
Every year we go thru this same old dance. Listen to the music, sing along, sway with the rhythm, it's wonderful (or not).
Either plan to go, if you have to, get ready (things will still be ready 2 or 3 months later), and stand back (Stan Back), and see what happens.
Where was the famous quote from? (". . . and you're only jerking off.).
Has anyone thought about calling the hotels and or the casinos to find out any information.

Gosh....That strikes me as being political. Hope no one gets all huffy about it. :-DHas anyone thought about calling the hotels and or the casinos to find out any information.
Do you really think the casinos have any clue when they will reopen?
It's not up to them anyways. If we had national leadership and a plan....
No Tests = No Fun. When we have real time stats things will loosen up.

In my opinion I believe that the BLM does not want us at either Bonneville or El Mirage. Increased regulations and fees plus no reciprocal services have shaped my outlook.

Considering that the SCTA says the meet (at this time) is going forward, one would think that they have been in contact with the BLM and that whatever permits required are in hand. Of course we all know what making assumptions does.Well, Hey, see what I meant by "making assumptions" LOL. Geeezzz. Now they get to apply. Oh well. Seems the gov't is hell bent on opening things so BLM to follow suit? Ha, Another assumption. :dhorse:
Hotel prices actually look lower than I remember...
