Title: Looking for an update on the last jet car built by Craig Breedlove . . .
Post by: tallguy on October 01, 2019, 02:20:41 AM
I understand that Steve Fossett modified it, but don't know anything else -- such as who now owns it, whether
anyone has plans to run it, etc.

I'd sure like to learn that it'll be active again (and may I add SAFELY) before someone goes 1,000 mph.

Maybe you should make the museum an offer.

Thank you, TrickyDicky.  I live kinda near Craig Breedlove, and have met him several times.  Maybe I'll plan a
visit with him.

1-2 years ago, I contacted the Museum where the car is and asked them about them selling it. The person whom I spoke to said the car will never be for sale. Maybe that's the agreement when the Fossett estate/heirs donated the car to the museum?

Thank you for the information.  I found it interesting but sad -- knowing something about all the time, effort, and
money that went into this vehicle, that saw such limited "action" (speed runs).  But life goes on.
