Here's the story, kiddos. I've kinda been dragging my feet about the shirts (again) this year, but now I've decided to go balls-to-the-salt (oowwie!) and get some ready. We'll do it as in the past - I'll auction the right to have your vehicle on the shirt to the three or four highest bidders. I need about $750 to get the things made - the auction is a great way for me to not lose money. The shirts and Salt Talks in general are the biggest single way of raising funds to run this site, so feel free to help me not have to beg for a long time.
Now the fun part: For a bunch of years Fred Vance was one of the biggest supporters of the shirt, getting on it almost as a matter of routine. Fred isn't gonna be able to pay for his place on the shirt this year - so I'll give him a free spot on the entire back of the shirt (like we did for Ray the Rat a few years back).
I gotta pull the trigger soon to get all the shirts done in time to put 'em in the truck to lug out to the salt, so get me some offers quick, please. And if you want your vehicle to be on the shirt -- have a good picture of it. It takes a good pic to look good.
Let's hear from you, please. And then we'll see you on the salt.

Girls and boys, I need to get going on the t-shirts if we're gonna have them for Salt Talks. Once I get three or four of you signed up I need to get the pictures and then get them to the artist so the enfarculation can be registrated thermoarrythmically in a proper time frame and then get the transfers made and in the meantime order the blank shirts and then get it all together and make the sons-a-guns.
And that takes time and we ain't got much of it so please -- support the Forum and reserve your spot in history! Thanks.

I and have received it. Thanks. Unh, for those of you that don't read thought bubbles, Geoff has made it a sure thing that we'll have Salt Talks '18 t-shirts. I'll entertain offers to join him on it, though, and will be happy to also have support in a smaller amount - like a hundred bucks -- to get your name or whatever on the sleeves.
Gotta get this all done within a few days, so get thine collectives butts in gear and sign on.

Jerry, whatcha gonna have on the shirt? Your logo? Your race car? A pic of you naked on a motorcycle? You can't do the last -- Freud beat you to it a few years back.
So what do you want - or have you just asked to buy some shirts? I gotta be careful with you...

It's Saturday morning, kids, and I'd like to get the shirt under way. I've got room for another bike or car or two, so if you want to be immoralised (I mean immortalized)on cloth - get with me pronto.

Kids, here's a better-than-ever reason to get on the shirt for this year. Pork Pie has graciously allowed me to use an image of Fred Vance of his for the back of the shirt. And he's reminded me that this art, like the Ray the Rat shirt of a few years ago, will be a one-time thing so it'll be that much more of a keeper.
Get in touch if you want on it. One sleeve is taken but there's another, and there's still room for a race vehicle or two.

I'm gonna order the blank shirts today, getting mostly L and XL but a handfull of 2XL, too, and a few M, maybe a half dozen small and who knows, maybe a few ladies cuts.
I've got pics of a few vehicles - and am thinking that maybe I'll quit now. The shirt will look good and not cluttered. It'll be a fine keepsake and memorial and a great addition to your inventory of oil rags-to-be I mean stunning garb.

Oh, you certainly pay me when you get the shirts. I'll trust that you'll buy them. Now if you'd asked for some size 5XL in bright green -- I mighta asked for cash up front.
It's fun - walking around on the salt, folks asking me to take money. Sometimes it's for shirts, not Nancy. :evil: :evil:

Tony at La Dolce Studios (they run the ad agency upstairs from Kudos) has all but one of the photos already. I've asked that the art be ready by the middle of next week. Like I said, the shirts will arrive this Friday, and I'll send the art out for color correction and transfer production and get the shirts made in the next two weeks or so. There's your timetable.

The shirts were at Kudos for a few minutes Friday. It's a vendor I seldom use so they wanted COD. No problem - 'til the shirts arrived COD Cashier's check or Money Order. I'll have the danged checks ready for UPS in the morning. Sheesh.
I ordered a dozen or more 2XL and have some 3XL in stock. Anybody want one? Lemme know, please.
Stainless, if you've hidden a bare butt in that pic - it's well-clothed.

Geez - you again. Aren't you the guy that whines like this every year? Even though you're a satisfactory customer and contributor?
Okay - I was upstairs talking with Nikki about the shirt within the last half hour. She's doing the layout today and will get it to me as soon as she does. Really -- not stalling this year, but the whole thing is sorta happening all at once (versus me stalling for three or four months). :-P

Hey, John. Well, yes, sorta - the photos are at the designer's desk and I suspect she's got far enough along that I dasn't ask her to stop the presses. I've gotta get these things made and folded in about three weeks.

Hey - it's Saturday night and Nancy's dozing on the sofa so I'll post pictures of the new Salt Talks shirt.
First of all - This year's shirt is Fred Vance's chance to shine his Red Hat smile for all of us. Pork Pie sent the picture - thank him for it.

And then there's the front. Buamotorsport came through big time, Stainless was his usual kind self, and Chris -- well, he's managed to build a car that has fascinated dang near everyone on the Forum - so that's why the Milwaukee Midget is on the shirt.

I've made about a hundred of the shirts, with maybe 15-20 already (pre)sold. If you want to reserve yours - get in touch by PM or email or text or something.

Oh, wow, what a problem I wish I'd had in the past. Here's what I'm talking about:
I ordered 100 blank t-shirts (varying sizes) and 110 each of the front and back art. I expected that we'd have some leftovers, as usual, but I tried to minimise that.
Now youse guys like 'em and I jight run short. I don't think I can get the supplies and make the shirts in time for our 4 August (that next Saturday) departure for the salt. I'll explore how fast I can get some stuff here and maybe will be able to make extras - otherwise I might beg for some of you to let me send 'em to you after we get back home and I make more.
I'll try to find out and let you know tomorrow.

Okey-donkey - we've been home long enough for the dust to settle. Who still needs/wants a Salt Talks '18 t-shirt?
Did you tell me you wanted one/some and you didn't get it at SpeedWeek? Let me know. Did you send $$ and you still don't have your shirt(s)? Let me know. Some are in the mail already. . .soe no doubt aren't 'cause I spaced on them. I don't think there are that many, though.
Or do you want a shirt or three? Let me know. $25 each includes shipping - order more than 4 at a time and I'll sell them for $20 each, okay? We still have most sizes.
