Looking for some vedors/part numbers for mesh shade we see a lot of pits using. We had some last year that said it was a 70% blocking but it wasn't as effective as what we saw in other pits.
Being from PA, there aren't that many dealers if the stuff locally. Was hoping some of you mid/west coasters may have some knowledge you could share.

Several, including me, use the mesh that is used to cover garbage trucks. Probably available in any size you need. Don't have any idea of blocking percentage but it seems to work for me. Not my idea, Al used one for years.

Go to your local nursery/ pot supply store or on line

About 1988 or 89 we got pretty fried and decided we needed shade.... everyone was using those blue or silver tarps... you roasted under those.
We found this or something very similar at the farm store
https://www.qcsupply.com/farm-livestock/cooling/shade-material.html
and bought 2 12x20 pieces... yep they seemed a little expensive then, but we are still using the same 2 we bought back then.
After the SCTA officials stood under it in impound, they wanted to know what it was... we told them it was Cattle Guard, and we got it from a farm supply.... they had it over inspection the next year.
The good stuff comes from the farm supply store... the cheap stuff comes from HF....
Works well

We use Fencescreen fabric on chain link fence at JFK Airport. Comes in different blocking ratings.

Tractor supply also carries shade fabric in different sizes. Their Privacy Shades give 88% blockage.
