After nearly a decade of seeing the Bonneville Salt Flats I still have to restrain my self at, least once, of referring to it as ice!
This could be because part of my childhood was spent on a farm in Maine that bordered on the shore of Swetts Pond, a lake too small to see on a map, but full of dear memories.

I've heard a lot of people over the years refer to it as sand, unfortunately that's becoming closer to the truth now.
