Congratulations to all racers that achieved an FIM World Records and/or AMA National Record!
All records are pending Ratification/Certification by the sanctioning bodies. Impound logs and scrutineering sheets will be checked, before confirmation of the records. We’ll be adding run logs for ALL motorcycles to our website soon.

Thanks much Linnea! I hope you had a good time there. Question: The record list has two entries for 150cc displacement. But the official rules go 100, 125, 175. So shouldn't the entry be in the 175cc class? They are at the end of the list on the web site.

I'm glad you asked:
Diesel and Electric Classes do not follow the engine displacement classification.
See Chapter 12, paragraphs 12. V-W (diesel) and
12.X. (electric) for displacement classifications.
12. X. SOLAR/ELECTRIC (W)
Class specifications for Solar/EV vehicles shall be updated for 2018. Full guidelines to follow in competition bulletin.
Weight determines this engine class:
NOTE: Pound weight converted from Kilogram weight to match the FIM regulations for this class.

Thanks for the reply. I thought it might be something like that. It was confusing because 125 was in the "displacement" column and there is no displacement for electric bikes.

No !000cc P-PP record run ? Does the AMA recognize P-PP runs ? I am starting to see that different events have different rules. Are the SCTA classes and records recognized by the AMA ?

Probably just like NASCAR and NHRA.

Stan. I read the BMST rules for production engine, and it has to be oem specs for that motor. whereas in SCTA it states that engine displacement will determine class, and cannot exceed the max cc for that class. There is the wiggle room. None for BMST. But, I am tempted to try to put an 883 over 144 mph. I believe it can be done, just for the reason that no one ever put much time into trying with that engine and bike.

Those are just the records set at the 2017 event. The AMA record for 1000 P-PP is 136.476 MPH which would probably be difficult to beat with a Sportster as that record is held by a Buell which has a huge aero advantage over the Sporty due to the fairing the Buell has.

It will be wise to virtually design the engine first to see what it takes to get the power you need.

Thanks Dan. I found that earlier. And with the oem spec requirement, it would be hard to make an 883 run that fast. I never really cyphered it out, but with every little bit of hp I can find and with pulley changes. (nothing in rules about that) it would be really hard to do; Not saying it couldn't be done, because I don't think anyone really put forth the effort. Now in SCTA, it would be easier with a 1000cc engine displacement. I might surprise you.
