Excuse the stupidness but Iv`e never done this before! ...ok I turn up with my pre-entry , go to registration with my crew and get armbands -is that how it happens? once I have done this I go to tech with my bike and leathers ,helmet etc ...is that correct ?is this for Thurs,Fri and Sat from 9am?

You're sorta right. Many folks go get a pit, then go get in line for inspection (assuming it'sopen). You get to wait for "pre-tech" where Kathy Butler and others will hand you your packet full of stuff and inspect your safety garb and support vehicle for CB radio and fire extinguisher. And then you'll be ready to move up towards inspection.
Inspection is almost always open - not just a few hours the first few days. Don't worry about missing out.
