I arrive in SLC at 12:30 lunchtime...what's the easiest way to get to Wendover? I remember there used to be shuttles. Found Le Bus online and sent a mail but no repsoonse yet. The middle of the day flight isn't optimal for anybody to come to SLC from Wendover of course.

What day?
Perhaps someone's coming thru SLC at that time. The airport's right off I-80 --wouldn't be a big deal to pick you up.
Last year I spent a good deal of time looking for shuttles, but none came close.

An Australian trucker I know took a cab from the airport to the nearest truck stop and got a ride right away to Wendover. Got a ride right away to the Salt with a hot rodder. Talked someone out of their bike and showed up at our pits a couple hours after leaving the airport,

LeBus might not get back to you, but I've used 'em twice - No issues. Best to call. You get a few perks - some coupons at the casinos for a pass at the buffet and some chips.
$22.00 round trip. At what they've been charging for the buffet lately, the bus ride is free.
Heading back, I spent 3 hours at Montego Bay waiting for the 5:00 departure, milking my free chips on a nickle slot machine, drinking free beer and watching the Cubs beat the Cardinals while letting my sunburn heal. I think I might have wound up a few nickles ahead.
I've had worse afternoons.

Are Kate and you flying into Wendover International? Need a ride to the KoA or someplace? I'd offer but I think we've got plans for just then, but - ask if you need a ride.

Last year I was told that LeBus only went downtown SLC and an outlying shopping center. So you'd have to take a cab to somewhere to get a ride on the lightly scheduled bus. Maybe this has changed? Also took days to communicate with them.

This is true - I picked it up on the corner parking lot next to the Red Lion Hotel. You could Uber, Lyft or Taxi. The Red Lion provides a shuttle service, if you're cheaper than I am.
I doubt that's possible . . .
I did look it up today, though - looks like the pickups may have been changed recently.

If it’s only a couple of days there is a ton of traffic back and forth all day long on the weekend and getting a ride is no problem. But it starts to thin out quickly after Monday. If staying longer I would suggest a rental car. It gives you so much more freedom of movement, flexibility, and ease of use. From the pits to the start line is 2 miles and you probably want to go back and forth frequently ever day. Also, the pits can be a mile long and if you want to meet people or see a team, having a car is so much easier. You just drive down the side of the pits and walk across to the area of interest. Or you and the car buy a pit pass and can drive in the pits. Hitching a ride gets old quickly and greatly compromises your flexibility. Although, you sure do meet a lot of interesting people. :-D

The rest of my team will be there and has our push truck, just coming from a different place and time. Yeah, I wouldn't want to be there totally rideless, it's a long way from the hotel..;)
