Title: C/AIR RULE Error correction
Post by: Seldom Seen Slim on July 22, 2017, 08:11:20 AM
This arrived overnight from Mike Kaehny.  Color emphasis mine.

"********************  ATTENTION RACERS  *******************

THE 2017 SCTA RULE BOOK CONTAINS AN ERROR THAT MAY AFFECT YOU!!
On page 73, the rule for the C/AIR class ( 5.B.2.a ) needs clarification.
The last paragraph should read…..

“IGNITION MUST BE A SINGLE MAGNETO OR POINTS DISTRIBUTOR.

NO EFI, COMPUTER CONTOLLED, DATA COLLECTION, ETC. COMPUTERS ARE ALLOWED.”

The typo will be addressed and will read correctly in the 2018 rule book.

And now here's a correction of the correction based on this email from Mike Kaehny TODAY:

Attached is a revised announcement to the issue we spoke about at Friday night's Board meeting.
It seems that the first one posted caused a bit of a dust up. I've been working with Mike Manghelli to get the rule dialed in and I believe we have it about as crystal as we can get it.
If we could get the revised version posted on the SCTA website as well as Facebook, that would be great.
Sending it out to the clubs would be a plus as well.
I've copied Jon from LR.com on this too in hopes he can get the revised version posted on the LR.com forums as well.
I apologize for the hassle.

There has been discussion within the SCTA and the rule has been reworded to the version below.

“IGNITION MUST BE A SINGLE MAGNETO OR POINTS DISTRIBUTOR. NO ELECTRONIC OR COMPUTER CONTROLLED DEVICES ALLOWED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO EFI, IGNITION OR DATA ACQUISTION, ETC.”
