Quick question on an area I'm unfamiliar with.
Is there a manufacturer out there that produces tyres rated to 500mph+?
-
Mickey Thompson 18 x 9 X 30 rated at 495.

Most interesting posts for a newbie!
An electric vehicle project interest after October.
Fastest electric of all time.
Fastest wheeldriven ( > 458 mph two way as of today).
500 mph tyres (or tires, for those in the USA).
[Either you have been chatting with Jerry Bliss or you have similar ideas after working for Richard N.].
For tyres at the present time research Mickey Thompson 29" diameter LSR (Company now owned by Cooper Tires) or chat with Tom Burkland, Rick Vesco or George Poteet.

On Mark's 'profile' here, his "About Me" blurb is on the Bloodhound site.

His profile also gives gender as 'female'. Don't believe everything you read on landracing.com. :-)

If you're going to build a streamliner you need to design it around the tires.

Also wheels (offset etc) and axles.

British designer John Ackroyd always stated that you should start the design process by assessing where the vehicle is going to be run.

True, were do you plan to run this 500MPH car?

Why? You know exactly what he meant .... :-o

I thought maybe he was referring to South Albania or something?.
You guys are so easy to wind up. :-D :-D :-D :-D
-
South Australia would work too
Welcome to the madness Mark :-D

South America...obviously :-)

The 12,000 foot altitude salt flats in SA would be perfect for an electric powered streamliner. Being electrically powered the altitude would have little to no effect on the power and the greatly reduced air density would greatly reduce the power required to go fast. As the Brits say: "Brilliant!"

Rex, you always save the best for last. Nothing left to say and every one is out making a run on double A batteries.

Maybe Eva and Bill can stop in Bolivia on their way to New Zealand next year and run her bike in the rarified air. :-D

Don't forget your International wall plug adapter.
