Title: GusGus returning to Speed Week
Post by: fabio montani on May 12, 2017, 12:05:23 PM
I'm very excited to take Gus Gus back to Bonneville after so much work. Our container must be shipped within the first week of June and all pieces are coming together nicely in these days. Everything looks fine but i still have to find a NOS supplier in SLC as we need a good number of large cylinders to refill our car bottles on the salt...

There is an Airgas and Praxair location in Salt Lake City.
Both seem to be close to an interstate.
you should be able to find both in Google.
Good luck.

Called airgas in SLC and they only sell nitrous in a 64LB container price is $466.00 dollars.

Good luck Fabio. Can you tell us which class you are going for, this time? I have a note that you are fitting a bigger motor but no details.

Thanks in advance.

thank you Saltwheels and Racefanwfo ,  64 lbs cylinders are fine and will get in touch with Airgas SLC unless ERC can supply the same together with fuel on the salt.

TrickyDicky :GusGus will run again in EFS class but 2017 engine is now running with a NOS injection dry system managed by a MOTEC ECU  . It took a while to produce a NOS system with a decent flow stability and to work out the engine map to controll NOS injection together with fuel injection but in the end we achieved a good smooth power control allowing to use the NOS throughout the entire run.
GusGus will enjoy several improvements in the  suspension and bodywork addressed to gain more  traction and stability.

Hopefully with the help of a dry smooth track will see soon how it works ...

Anyone know what happened? I can read the speeds from the daily runs info on the SCTA web site, but not seen anything beyond the raw numbers.

A proven vehicle with extra power went slower than six years ago, and much slower than the declared target (550 km/h). There must be a story to be told.
