Title: Big bore cylinders? What do you use and how big can / do you go??
Post by: MRK on September 13, 2016, 01:25:27 PM
Has anybody used "Nickies" cylinders in their engine builds? I'm familiar with them for Porsche applications but not aircooled VW. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanx, Mike

Well, here's their website.

Unless you're made of money, I don't know why you would go that route. I built a turbo Type 1 engine for less than that total expense.
Went 122 with a very poor aerodynamics car.
Tell us more about what you want to do.
Steve

Lots of Type 4 guys use Nickies.  You can go up to around 105mm on a type 4 and around 96 on a type 1.
