Post by: TAKERRY on August 26, 2016, 02:38:38 PM
I was wondering how many ECTA cars and bikes were at Speedweek. Also list their car numbers and times.

The Ron's Hobby Shop Special was there. A rear engine modified roadster flathead Ford V-8 powered blown on gas. Ron senior Bumped the gas record from 139 to 192.448 seniors top speed 192.9. Ron junior drove the car classed for fuel bumped record from 158 to 178 juniors top speed 185.9. All will be in Wilmington next month.

Putting 53+ mph on the blown gas record, you should be ashamed of yourself showing everybody up like that Ron! :-D

Wonder what the speed would have been if I had traction in first and second

I usually start in 2nd with a push for this reason. 1st is totally useless. And as the 1-2 shifter arm broke (several times after welding) on a qualifying pass and we didn't have time to try to fix it, I started in 3rd (with bigger push) on the return run. Missed new record by about .5mph.  :( The way my week went. Qualified 3 times, couldn't back up any of them by about the same mph.
