Title: scoop out in the air or covered

we have a 150mph car hopefully, and I was wondering if it would be better to have the supercharger scoop out in the open air or cover the whole thing for better aero and just breathe the air underhood? Small B&M blower on flathead ford. thanks

A lot of results depend on design. Unrestricted airflow has more effect that aerodynamics at your proposed speeds. Simple is better.

I ran a single carb 301 Chevy in a "Brick" ( I mean Street Roadster). I made a scaled down version of a Pro Stock Scoop. We ran a best of 168 MPH. I "designed" and made a thru-the grill system and went 25 MPH slower. Removed the cover on the hood and modified the front of the plenum, stacked two 11 inch air cleaners (thanks to Mike & CARQUEST) into the air stream and went 170 MPH.

A blown engine is certain to be a little different on how it likes to see incoming air.

Sometimes we tend to overthink things.
