It is slow in the ECTA forums, so..
I want to go faster, a novel idea I know but a legitimate one I believe. I don't think I can find 50 more horsepower, I can't put a manual trans in before June race. I have a stiffer air dam that is much closer to the ground. I am thinking about lowering rear 2 inches. Without going to mass quantities of duct tape and nitrous, any suggestions for getting 500 more RPM in the lights? On 187 pass I shifted my C4 at 8000 and went across the line at 7000. I think I may be able to accelerate a little harder from the start and I can raise shift points 500 rpm. Since I have nothing else to do but ponder the ever so slight possibility of a 200 mph pass, I might as well run it by the old internet bunch. Thoughts?

Make it low , add lower side valances, make the nose smooth and close to the ground. Close off the front end.
Add a spoiler to smooth the back end. Add vortex tabs if legal for your class.
Aero, aero, aero.

Can't add anything as far as I know. No skirts, no wings no blocking off front no body mods. Will just go low as I can go!

Going lower especially in the front will help. Im unable to tell from the photo what type of rear tire your running. If its a drag radial the tire growing at speed will help you with a gear change. At speeds above 170 or so the Mickey Thompson drag radials I run grow an inch and more thus adding a better top end gear with no need to add more RPM for a faster speed. :cheers:

Using my Gear ratio computer from Mark Williams if you run a 26 inch diameter drag radial that grows one inch at the speed gear ratio and RPM your already doing the figures I see will put you at 200 MPH at 6850 RPM.

Well if your tach is accurate, and your tires did not grow, you are slipping 5% somewhere. The tire looks like it might be slipping. If it is then you have enough power, but not enough traction, that means you need better aero. Or you need to improve traction...
7000 puts you at almost 198, you need another 100 to go 200

Those tore up tires went 165 through the mufflers. I changed the tires and ran 178 through mufflers. I removed the mufflers and went 187. I know the converter slips at least 500 rpm. It is a custom built 3000 stall converter. I will have a manual trans in it right after the June race. I think I am going with a close ratio toplaoader. Can't seem to find a close ratio TKO and can't afford a Jerico. For June I have a little more air dam and will just try and launch a little harder. May up the rpm 500 on the shifts too. Would be happy getting into the 190's with my C4 automatic. if your converter slips 500 and your tires grow 1/2 inch you go 187....
either way... better aero will help :cheers:
