Thanks to Bill Latten for all his effort in trying to organize this event. LSR spans many venues from dirt to salt to asphalt to ice. I think dry lakes racing is what a lot of us do, it is our thing and as Dan says "a lifestyle not a bucket list item". Pavement racing just doesn’t appeal to a lot of us.
That said we signed up. Because the driver works out of town, schedule conflicts and rain outs only allow us to run a couple of races a year so we thought we would give it a try. We weren't going to change anything. We have suspension at both ends and would still push off the line as our light weight clutch is not designed for pavement drag racing. Running an F/SR , low speed, aerodynamics and disc brakes on the rear would let us stop easily so we wouldn’t have to drag our chute down the asphalt. I was not worried about FOD to the tires as the runway is probably cleaner than the lake bed. If we were serious we could change the gear in the QC and take out about 200 lbs of weight. As Tony said "it would be different not to spend half of the weekend after the meet cleaning the car".
