Title: Aussie Speedweek 2016
Post by: firemanjim on March 01, 2016, 07:10:52 PM
Heard that our good friend and team mate, Kim Krebs went 208 on the rebuilt 750 that was destroyed in the fires at Greg's farm. So Kimmie is in the DLRA 200 club and is the first Australian women over 200 ( not sure if that is just bikes or??)

Beautiful bike.

Congrats, Kim!

To perseverance!

I know it's tough getting info out of Gairdner, but we'll take any and all scraps.

Yeah, that'd be bikes.

As a lot of you know its not everyday you meet people as nice, smart or fast as Kim and Greg

Yeah, well, they're nice -- but then there's Fireman Jim, their stateside accomplice.  You figger him out, okay?

Yeah,Slim, there is that--- :-D

Just got a quick text from Greg about results for Black Art Racing at the DLRA Speedweek. Neill Finlay went 222 MPH, Kim Krebs went 212 MPH, and Greg went 213 naked which I think makes him the fastest naked guy in Australia ---- and good friend, Mick Donohue got his licensing passes out of the way while Marg worked in the timing booth! Good show all!!!

Well said Glenn. Bob Ellis chief car tech has done a great job. There was a particular emphasis on checking tire roll out, one sedan had to run 55/85psi side to side to get the same circumference. By the end of he week the only spin was a car with a front blow-out.

The Ross Racing Yamaha SR500 is in two nice pictures on pages 90 and 91 in the current (February 2010) issue of Classic Bike Guide.  It is on Lake Gairdner in the photos.

Stuart Hooper's bike is now a 650 instead of the 700 he ran at Bonneville in 2010 and it is supercharged. Here are some photos of the bike with the new this year Sprintex supercharger on:

G'Day Guys,
the PROVISIONAL results are now available at http://www.dlra.org.au/2016.htm

This year was very tight, everything ran like clockwork, heaps of runs, lots of records and personal bests, only 2 spins for the whole week.

We even added a set of lights at the 6 mile for an extra long course on the Friday.

Thanks to all officials and volunteers for a great job all week.
