Title: Helmet 2010 snell
Post by: Don Martin on January 28, 2016, 11:18:04 AM
OK. I hope this will not open a can of worms. My helmet has a snell 2010 date. Is it good for this year? How long is it useable.

Helmets with SA2010 or SAH2010 cert are good through 2021. See rule 3.A.2

On the helmet subject I noticed there are now snell 2015 helmets.  Any idea how long these would be good for?  Would it make sense to buy a 2015 rather than a 2010?

I'd say 12 years ( 2027 ) going by the standards posted in the current rule book. Snell along with most major helmet manufacturers suggest replacing your helmet every 5 years due to "material degradation".

MRK, I love your avatar photo.  Is it available to us in a larger format?

Thanks in advance.
