We are going to attempt to make it to one or 2 of the ECTA Ohio events this year. I have been looking through the current motorcycle records and have a question about classes;
I see the usual Production, Modified & Special Constriction classes, in Modified and Special Construction I see the usual M-Gas, Fuel, Blown, etc. and I understand the Twin vs. four cylinder, but I also see a "T" designation. I have not figured that part out. Could someone give me the decoder ring settings for the "T" as in M/TG-1000/4?
We have ran a couple of times at El Mirage and Bonneville, is there anything we need to be aware of that is a major difference between running an ECTA event vs an SCTA event?

Thanks for the info. I'll get a rule book. It looks like there are a lot more options in the ECTA than the SCTA.

Are you sure on the ohc part? I thought pushrods were allowed with twins?

Never knew that, thanks! Loring allows pushrod in twin thus why I thought ECTA did also

SCTA rule book classes are pretty much the same as the ECTA and LTA. But I believe at El Mirage there is no modified production class

The SCTA doesn't have a modified production class. You're production or you're modified. At El Mirage there is no modified class Only production or A. Where else would a bone stock featherbed frame have to run in A?

So the SCTA has changed the rules in the last few years? I have a three year old SCTA rule book and Section 7F list Modified Production and the class rules. So now it "modified" ? Is it the same as the old Modified Production class?

The SCTA "Modified" or "M" class has always technically been "Modified Production". The intent was to have a class that a Production bike with some aftermarket parts, like exhaust, which would not be legal for the Production class, could run. It is intended to bridge the gap between Production and Special Construction classes. It is very seldom refered to as "Modified Production" though.
Also true that at El Mirage, you are either Production or Special Construction; no Modified classes.

Apologies. Its been so long that I've heard the words "modified production" I forgot about them. Always just thought "modified".
