My only racing experience outside of LSR was Soap Box Derby.
I painted my car the same orange as Bobby Isaac's Charger. :cheers:

My first car was a soap box derby racer in 1955.

Many years ago a group of us junior engineers thought it would be a jolly jape to connect our four soapbox racers together. Remove the front from three of them and connect them in turn to the back of the one in front to create a sort of articulated 10 wheel road train. Full of small boys pushing like hell from the top of a hill it went really well until we got to the corner at the bottom where the hill flattened out. I was the idiot driving so when the whole thing flexed in the middle the front end came off the ground. High speed, no steering, a lamp post and rank stupidity are why my front four teeth at the top are implants. My parents had their enthusiasm for that little event pretty much under control.

Woah Louise - put that candle out. As you well know, the last thing Snr Mgt needs is any outside help to keep me under control. But I'm pleased to say that my four year old grandson is showing the same tendency towards "experimental" behaviour. He's already doing jumps on his balance bike and like my son (who should know better at his age) will climb anything that looks as though it's asking for it. Hats off to the kid with the BloodhoundSSC soapbox. As Tauruck said - that's what it's all about.
