We ran the #369 Roadster and turned it up to 11 since it was the last meet of the year.

Note to self, don't do that again.  :-P

Here is the spin video:

The video is very good-- especially the inset data readouts. Who made that system?

The video overlays are added in the data acquisition software provided with the AEM data logger the car runs.

Watching Gregg(?) spin didn't make us real confident.

Was that Greg's hand that hit the camera and changed position?

Here's Sunday's pass in the 3076 C/StR San Berdoo Roadster with Willie Martin driving.  He gets his B license, barely, at 175 mph.  Not much traction in any gear.  The woo-woo is for the engine in 4th gear.

Well, it's blocked on my electric machine -- maybe you can make it work.

I like how you point the camera at the CB radio so we can "see" the speed!  :-P

Come on, John.

The speaker for the CB is on the bottom of it.

We're too poor to wire it into the truck.

I;ve just posted Dan Warner's "Impound Insights" on the home page of this website.  I've usually ALSO put them here, in the Forum, but this time they are two full pages long.  I decided that being that long I didn't want to ask all of you to read all the way through to find the next post here, so go to the home page (www.landracing.com) and you'll find them right on the top in the middle.  Enjoy reading about a super-fine weekend (from what I hear).

I had heard that you came all the way out from Utah to join us so I thought I'd give you something fun to watch while up in the tower.  :-D  When I find some time I'll post up a video of my spin.  Once the car decided it was done spinning, it left me rolling backwards.  Too bad I wasn't on course otherwise I think I would have gotten backwards top time of the year.

ya Glen it was good to hear you in the tower, and you got to see me make my first run of the meet  sorta neat after all the years working together.   oh ya Late chute? come on Glen lol

I dont know, I saw Prentices spin and when he came out of the dust cloud he was still hauling azz but just running straight backwards. If he could have steered the car about 10 feet to the south he might have tripped the clocks with triple digit speed!

Mike the car looked good even with a late chute, sorry we didn't get together at the meet.

Nathan,

You did it in fine style though. I'm glad we didn't lose any style points for reversing through the course!

The last weekend at EL Mirage was great in many ways.  Each year we bring the young men's group from our church out for a Friday night camp over. Lots of dads follow us out and always have a great time. Thanks to all the racers that stopped what they were doing to chat with some of our group. BUT, I really want to thank the rider of motorcycle 768.  As we were leaving, we stopped my truck near  the traps so my grandsons could see the high speed and the chutes being deployed. 768 came through the traps and then made his swing to the return road and stopped just in front of my 6 year old grandson Sheadan. He started a conversation with my son and grandson and Sheadan was just swept away by it all. The rider was kind and very polite and also happy to talk about what was going on with the bike.  Sheadan was so impressed. he made a d full report to grandma when we got home. Yesterday, we got a call from my ex-daughter-in-law and she said "WHAT is this 768? He won't stop talking about it!"  Tanks gentleman. we've hooked another one!  And a special thanks to the starter that wandered over to the fence and gave Sheadan a Speed Demon pin.  He doesn't want to take that off either!

That's a good example of how a small kindness shown to a kid can have deep and lasting effects. Good for 768!

And relevant would be a GOOD thing!
Some Bonneville records from September's World of Speed have not been updated!!!!   If I were one of the record holders, I'd be pissed!
Also, ELMO results have not been posted.

Let's see here, The SCTA may or may not have a new or current President, The SCTA cannot seem to figure out how or where to update its communications to members, and anarchy reigns!
And you thought this was the slow season...............................

And one of the Bonneville records is incorrectly listed - only .005 off, but you don't want them to look too soft . . .

Realistically, they're volunteers.  I can't bring myself to be too hard on 'em.

Dan, don't worry - at this point it's just funny.

You've done the numbers, I've done the numbers, the USFRA has done the numbers . . .

The upside is that if this goes unnoticed, I can actually run slower next time and still up my record!
