Once again I am asking for Studebaker fans to assist me in discovering the fastest mile speed set by a '53-'54 Studie. This year, because of the rain outs there is only one event that qualifies for the Courtney Hizer Award. I had no Studebakers in the impound so I am at a lost as to who ran what. I did look at on on a trailer but the car will not be ready until next season so it doesn't count.
Anyone keeping track?
Thanks for your time,
DW

Sorry Dan, I only ran my mouth this year but I do have room on the wall for another one............. hopefully next year.

Wow - I hadn't thought of it - but this was about a Studebakerless an event as I've ever seen. Usually, there's more Studes than Camaros. I went through Gregg's pictures looking for Studes and numbers and came up empty.
You could check the results on the USFRA site and see if you recognize any numbers.
I'm seeing a Hawk on the USFRA picture post for September 7th - can't see the number.
I REALLY wish they'd include the make of the cars in the records - above and beyond the entry name and the driver.

That'd be cool if it was a 130 Club member -- and probably made more than one run!
What an honor to get such an award!

Didn't Don Enriquez make a couple of passes in a studebaker at the Cook test and tune?

I just looked through all the pics that I took at WoS and I think this is the car Chris is talking about. I found it in my Friday 09052014 link.
It is car #7727 and a Hawk and I do not see a class designation.

DW, Of all the 491 pics I took, this is the only Studebaker I got and it is not what you're looking for!

EDIT to add:
Yep, this is the car that Chris was saying is on the USFRA site.

Thanks all. Greg is correct, the Hawk does not fit the criteria of the award.
Jim,
I am going to ask Villa if the Cook T & T speed of 233+ by the Stupidbaker and Don Enriquez will be OK for this year.
