Agreed, Dan Thayer is an excellent Tuner....
Thanks for the information.

-
no bub.
next time on the salt, cars will also be running.

In 25 days we head to Bonneville, hopefully locked and loaded.
Dan Thayer at www.vtwinfuelinjection.com and his Crew ran into a small issue late last week thats being addressed.
When the crack was discovered the bike was mid-way (?) into to the tuning.
At 4,200 the torque and Horsepower were in the 205-210 range....40% throttle, 5# of boost.....running out of air.
Plans are to run 15# of boost at the Turbo outlet.....
-
Just a "small" crack :-o
The head shakes, turbo cant you think ?
Tiny
-
That happens on the Buell turbo bike regularly. It was welded twice at Bonneville and after many different added tabs and braces held up for 2 races.
-
That might be a good application for titanium.
-
Inconel 600 would work nicely if you could find it; it welds far easier than titanium and is used in high heat applications like this.

Would you be able to put a slip joint in there to allow for a little movement, or metal expansion? Or would that screw up the exhaust flow too much?
-
Dan Thayer saved the day....
-
We set up camp on the salt Friday morning ...
Sat Tech opened to an endless line....
Sun we rolled in a passed tech, no we're waiting for dry salt and traction....
Tuesday afternoon rode out to the Long Course. 30 minutes later, the wind and incoming rain closed to course.
Wed course closed all day, wet.
Thursday, LAST DAY...opted to pass due to limited traction available...
Next up..Mojave Mile, possible Texas and Ohio....
Installing a 1/4 fairing, license plate and going for a ride.....
