It is a great program that always ran fine in XP. Unfortunately, I now have a wiz-bang 64 bit Win-7 machine that dislikes Gear Split. Has anybody been able to run Gear Split in Win-7? What a terrible loss. :x Can anybody help, Please?
Dave Dahlgren (the author of Gear Split) used to be a regular contributor on here with valuable insight. Anyone know how he can be reached? THANKS for any help.

All kinds of issues with Win 7 64-butt running older software, try running it as an admin in compatibility mode?
And just a FYI, Windows 9 should be out around Christmas.

Yep, tried compatibility mode for XP service release 3 and a few others. Also as administrator.
Thanks for the help.

Thank you Joe. I'll give him a call and report back. Off-grid so may be a delay.

Jack, I think it is a program to help you find speeds at RPMs for various tranny and rear end ratios. We have our own so I have never used it or checked the links

What program do you use? And in what computer environment? -THANKS

Thanks for your link, Sumner. I am quite familiar with your great site. I was actually responding to Ayesha's post #5 above. Kind of interesting how a new member picked up on an old thread yet didn't volunteer any helpful information about their current program.

MSA Lakester #1000 my fastest mile 245 and change, 84 ci turbobusa motor... but Corey's 233 MPH H/BFL record is still 3MPH faster than mine.

I've see that somewhere.... if you are concerned with the math... remember it is a 2 run average... sometimes you end up with an 8 mile motor instead of a 10 mile motor :|
-
It would be great if all of our motors could be 20 minute motors

Would you be kind enough to indicate the name of the program you use?
