Presently Im using 4 inch wide non offset Centerline wheels on the front of my lakester the tire is an M&H frontrunner I would like to move the tire postion closer to the king pin centerline to help improve stability. The 15 inch diameter wheel I use with five on 4.5 bolt circle is not offered with any offset by Centerline.
I have seen aluminum front wheels on various LSR vehicles which look like the space saver wheels that carry the spare tire on late modle cars. The offset of this type of wheel I think will work for me.
Would anyone know of a possible space saver wheel which is 15 inch diameter and five on 4.5 bolt circle?

Ron, I was thinking the same thing! I spent half a day at a junk yard, looking for what I needed, to no avail.

I used 55 Ford hubs which were not as wide as the early hubs and had 5 X 4.5 bolt pattern. Had the spindles machined to fit. Then used 90 Ford Probe mini spare wheels. The mini spare wheel is the same gauge as the others. I fully welded them on the back side. My scrub went from 1.75 inch per side to about .125. Hope this helps.

Ps I did need to enlarge the bolt holes as they were for 12 MM studs.

In fact, they, along with the 22-inch M&Hs, gave me a Red Hat. And the first time I could say I was steering, not just wishing.

Yep, that's correct. He did get us max offset, though!

Not common at all for you guys but we have several options over here
one of our fords was a dedicated gas (propane) car used 15x4 with 4.5" and i'm told Nissan s14 space savers are the same

Mid 80's ? Lincoln space savers are 15x4, one piece fully machined aluminum . Get a hold of Hot Rod Lincoln. Last year he told me he thought he had some.

Stan is correct if you read it on steering. M&H front runners 22's or 24's can make a good ride out of an unpleasant one.........

Last weekend in Loring just past the mile it became a handful the front air dam helped up to this new speed but now I need more changes as she gets faster. Set the mile record at 172.6 and the car was still pulling. Four runs on the new motor and everyone has been over 170 to the mile. :cheers:

I have had success finding space saver wheels at the local tire shops.
They will usually give them away.
5 on 4.5, look at Mazda and Toyota cars.

Lincoln wheels are rear wheel drive. If you need offset you need front wheel drive wheels, Probe Mazda etc. or specialty wheels.

I got my wheels there and I think Hooley did also. They had by far the best pricing I could find at the time. If they still make b'ville wheels it would at least be worth the time to get a quote from them,

try 1990s mustang spare tire wheelsthey are what you asked for, cheap, and strong. I know a guy that runs them on the rear of his 227 mph record holding lakester at elmirage. he says the work great and cover the brakes

I used the Centerlines with top-hat shaped hubs that moved the wheel inboard. It was a simple lathe job that used my original bearings in the thick aluminum hub. A local custom wheel manufacturer did them.
I dont know what it cost, it was a donation to the project. It works with rear steering arms, but probably not with a tie rod in front.
