Title: DLRA A/G 1650cc
Post by: dirtydave on May 19, 2006, 09:47:38 PM
Well after as much investigation as possible prior to construction and to be ready for the march 07 DLRA meeting, i get the feeling i might have bitten of more than i can chew, but i seem to do that all the time, so hey I'll just get on with it, at this stage I'm still trying to decide on a compression ratio as i still have the option to change during engine construction..and humming and haring between methanol and a racing gasoline, which will also affect my choice of compression. deciding to run unstreamlined means i will have to make some good grunt, but with out any salt racing feedback I'm a little in the dark, most of my decisions are based around softening off my Drag racing combination to hopefully a point at which the the motor will not morf into Aluminium Oxide..
Any advise would be much appreciated..

Been working on two bikes getting ready for the Salt season like the rest , Mike has Rocky and Sam (awesome combo) for the Ack team and taking care of Michelle, She had Knee surgery two weeks ago frome when she tore her ACL at the November El Mirage meet.  She may have to go back in for another surgery so we will see what happens.

Been spending more time at work at it is BUSY and no end in sight.:P

Great to hear from you John.....anybody that goes 260mph on a grocery-getter, is our "HERO".
Sorry to hear about Michelle's
surgery....here is hoping it works out allright.  At this point in time we will only do the BUB Meet.......we hope to see you and Michelle there......Take care.... and our best to Michelle.  B.B.

Well six months later and i still thinkin Ive bitten off more than i can chew but hey,, got most of my engine sorted and have decided to run a racing gasoline instead of methanol, stick with the devil you know, I have now decided to make most of what is left to do as it is to hard to get good help and things done how i want . every one wants to do it a diffrent way to what I'm thinkin, So i decided to become a fabricator, i can't even get a pipe bender the way i want so I'm making that first, I've had a kit pro stocker sitting around for years and have decided to modify that as my chassis,,,,

I just relocated my bike/s and bench's to where I'm living and started to work out what I'm doing and decided that I've got enough to build 2.5 bikes so I'm not going to cut up a good bike now I'm going to build a complete new one, plus an outlaw streeter, I found a 4m hunk of steel down at my local steel merchant to make my new jig up, going to build a full adjustable jig first,,
should have that sorted so and send you some preliminary drawings asap, already got 4130 and bought a tig the other day, Its all go and I've got alot to do but still recon I'll make it,

My A/streetbike with the 1327 motor i ran 7.89 165mph in pro stock, less the lock up and a fat tune up to lay the power out abit, the lectron are like an on off switch rather than a throttle,,still lots of fun,
