Title: Maine Event 2012 Pics
Post by: gkabbt on July 12, 2012, 05:35:27 PM
This is my 1st time here and this facility is over the top.
Main track (LONG) is for timed 1 and 1 1/2 miles.
Second track (SHORT) will be timed using a radar gun and will be for slower cars and test and tune (I think I remember hearing under 130).

Anyway, here are some pics I took today.....Hope you enjoy!

Forgive the many pics of the Orange Nissan truck but the workmanship on it is really incredible.

Question of the hour for the crew of the front-blower chopped coupe- is it more "slippery" with the windshield closed or cranked out? :-D

Unfortunatley, the car is question was the first we have ever had that could not pass tech, so it did not run.  You may be able to get an answer next month.

huge flat spot on one of the front tires..  there were other issues that couldve been fixed but the tire was not safe at all.

Due to breakage, mission accomplished or other reasons many teams had left by Sunday AM.
By 09:30 AM everyone was running laps.....Quickly!

Looking at Bill Warner's run from the starting line on Sunday was like looking at him being shot out of a gun.....Disappeared real quick!!!!

Overall, very good meet and great facility. Just wish it was not so far away from N.C.

Random pics from Sunday.
From the pits and mostly the starting line.....Hope you enjoy!
