Thanks Tim, CU there, any word from the fuel guy showing up Tomorrow?
-
Thanks Tim!! We are sitting in the hotel in Caribou. We will be there first thing in the morning.
-
We had the motorcycle tech inspectors briefing at 11:30. This was the biggest and best crew I ever had at a meet. We started inspections at noon and by 4:00 we had 50 bikes complete. I want to thank everyone that participated in tech today. If I missed anyone I apologize; Frank John, Greg Neal, Brenda Sue Carver, Jennifer Robertson, Lloyd Frink, Fred Vance, Tom Bouchard, Phil Campbell. Super attention to detail. We have some big iron for this event. I will get some photos tomorrow.

Charles Veneble(sp), ran a 205 today, yay way to go Charles!! Colt Bateman, on Karls bike ran a 230 foot shifting, Brenda Sue ran 212 with shift light issues, and I ran a whopping 169 with shifter issues. Looking for a little better tomorrow. :-P
-
Thats great news, Charles 205 in the mile. Fantastic!
Bill
-
Bill,
The 205 for Charles was for the 1 1/2, not the mile.I talked with him after the run yesterday about the mile time and he said they did not get that but he felt it was around 195.
Dave Matty (not even going to try and spell his last name...LOL) drove the Stude this morning on a license pass and went 155. Later this afternoon, he put the pedal to the metal and also went 205 in the 1 1/2.
I just posted some pics, in my other thread, from today and the 1st four are Dave on his 205 run this afternoon.
BIG CONGRATS to both Charles and Dave.

As of last night Steve V in his blown Roadster had top speed of the meet for cars at just over 211211 I was second at 205.9 and Dave Matyjasik third in my car ar 205.4. Steve tried another pass but blazed the tires. Pedaled it got back in it and popped the blower ..oh well.. We we set my car up for 213 to beat Steve but the crossing head wind held it to another 205..all good however..MISSION ACCOMPLISHED
-
Charles, the Studebaker is virgin no more! Now 200 will just be so routine for you!
-
Congratulation Charles,
Your dues have been payed. :cheers:Well earned 2 club.
Hooley
-
Thanks Hooley..you need to come run the 1.5 mile next year.
-
Congrats to all who ran and set records, especially over 200.
It was the first time that I had run at Loring and I was impressed by the facillity
and the management. I broke the transmission in the Corvette on Saturday morning,
so my best run was was my qualifying run at 180+.
I felt comfortable that the car could run 200, but that will have to wait till speed week to find out.

Colt ran a 235 in 1.5 miles today, Bill Warner 290 in the mile, Jen ran 235 on Johnny Cheese bike, Johnny ran 219, David Ball ran 205 1mi and 212 1.5mi, Brenda Sue ran 216 1mi 221 1.5mi, I ran naked today 208 1mi and 209 1.5mi. Ryan O. ran 210 1.5mi on his little street turbo Busa. Great job by all our group. A great job by Tim, the Dailey bros. and Steve for putting on a great event.

Great meet ... Tom Cronan turned in a 260 mph speed on Eric Paquette's DAS Performance air cooled 1991 Suzuki. This guy can ride a motorcycle.

Wooo hooo Charles, congrats on the big 2. Missed you at wilmington, just as well. Hot Hot Hot.
Frank and Amy.

A+ on the new line system. A+ on Marvin policing the line cutters. A+ on all of the start line crew
-
Did Bill Warner run yesterday morning? What speed did Eva get the electric streamlined side car up to ?
-
Bill ran 290.xxx. With all of the excitement, he forgot to shift in to 6th.
Eva went 188 but had programming problems that caused it to cut out over 3/4 throttle.

Was Bill's run to the mile and 1/2 or just to the mile?

Great event and thanks goout tothe staff and volunteers. Bumped my best mile by 6 mph and the bikes best by 3 mph with a 160. Best 1.5 mile was 163. Data logging worked well and I got my first taste of tuning with the power commander.
Lobster feasts pre and post event were great and there is still a pig roast in Albany to take care of. Combine those meals with a great meal at Cafe Sopreso in Presque Isle and this event ranks way up there on the Land Speed Culinary Tour list!

Eric's bike sounded like a fighter jet at the 1.5 mile mark!
Thanks to everyone for a safe weekend.

I would like to also add my:
"GREAT EVENT and thanks go out to Mark, Tim, the Staff and all the Volunteers"

Enjoyed the chicken BBQ Saturday night. Also thought running Friday afternoon was a great idea even if it didn't go as smoothly as we would have liked. Hope this will be included in next years event.

Agreed! I also like the "short" course for those of us that are speed impared.
