I am going and have rooms reserved again at the Wilmington Inn.
Working on a few tweaks to the Studebaker trying to get an extra 4.5mph.. Warmer and Dry would help too...
Safe travels to all headed to Ohio.

June is out, Amy's work and $$$ prevents this. We are aiming for July??. Hope you get that 5mph Charles. Got to get the air dam fab'ed and work on the master bathroom. that was the deal for building the new car. We had a blast at the first meet and we are trying for 140.00mph in july. Best to you Charles.
Frank.

I'll be there with the Mighty Truck. It'll be lowered and have a hard tonneau. Hoping for 115 - maybe.

not going to make it this time, maybe a spectator in july, but will be there in sept, a little more power, a little more aggressive. going to the AHDRA race this weekend in atco nj, just 45min from the house, take some gear out of it and see if i can 3 gears out of her in the 1/4 mile...LOL

We will be there. After the great time that we had in April, we are
looking forward to returning to the Ohio Mile.
For the first time we will be going to the Loring event in July. We enjoy spending time
with the great group of racers from NE.

Maybe I'll get a chance to crew for Charles. that would be almost as good as crewing for Amy :-D

Just an FYI if you were not satisfied with the food or drink on your first rip to Wilmington I can recommend a couple of places that you may not have found; the General Denver Hotel downtown Wilmington has a very good restuant/bar with a patio and live music on Sat.eve. also a bit out of the way is McD's Bub on Rt.22 south edge of Wilmington, go to the back room bar at McD's. Don't want anyone to go home hungry.
Oh, my car is entered in the June event, see you then.

Me and The Truck will be back. Truck will be 3" lower in front, 4" lower in the back (almost done), and the tonneau is in place. Let's see if aero helps the tugboat.

Ought to pick up a coulpe of mph just by dropping it a few inches Dan.

It hasn't been easy getting things done here with a very hectic work schedule. Many days over 14 hours long and everyday has been Monday... :-D Both bikes made noise this weekend and everything is looking good. Just a once over, some wax and they will be complete. See you all on Friday Morning.
I have talked to James Hight and the turbo Susuki 650/750cc will be making an appearance there in June. Looking forward to seeing that bike run there.
-
Greg I will have to wish you luck. I will sadly not be going to the race in June.
-
I'll be there watching this time. Should have a couple Go-pro's in tow if anyone wouldn't mind being a guinnea pig and letting me throw them on :)
-
Eric, we will miss you and the 250 in June, but I know you have some big plans for later on in the year. Best of luck to you.
-
I will also not be there for June. 1st meet I have missed in a while. Working on my '54 Parilla 175 and a new old bike I imported from UK that finally just got here. Both are shooting for BUB2012 so I gotta spend some shop time rather than track time. Honda 125/250 is now on the back burner and I'm not sure what form it will take next time out. Everyone have fun and be safe.

I will be running my 56 Corvette. You can catch a ride if you can figure out a way to attach the camera.

Stobl/Blake..If you need guinea pig, try to find my white #3978 Firebird with FSH Society on the doors. I may need some Hero help.

Just got the message the bike is ready to load though it didn't say if they found anything regarding the missed shift(s) to 6th gear. In any case, I will be there hoping to finally pull 6th gear and actually capture a data log!
-
Franey,
Likewise good to meet you and your wife. Tell her hello. I'll update the builds of both bikes later but I did get home to 2 boxes of Parilla parts from both Germany and UK. Sweet!! The UK box took 6 weeks and the Germany only 1 week. I suspect the one from Germany went over the Atlantic while the one from UK went the other way....

"I suspect the one from Germany went over the Atlantic while the one from UK went the other way...."
Would that other way be under the Atlantic?

As of now I should have 2 go pros with me, and possibly 4 if i can meetup with a friend in time. I'll have a couple suction cup mounts, a couple roll-bar mounts, and some homemade jigs (magnetic and zip-tie mounts). I'm definitely not a professional, but just like seeing in-car/on-car videos.
I'll swing by and see if i can find you guys!

We should be easy to find. Just look for the very large Michelin man on our trailer.

Anyone know how many pre-registered for June?
Jeff
-
Not filled up yet but more everyday!
-
Laura and I are heading to the meet but we wont be running our Lakester. That's a busy weekend for the crew some guys are heading to the drags in Englishtown and others heading to York with there street rods. I will help with the inspections as needed.
Our car for the weekend will be our old reliable high mileage roadster.
See you all Friday

Getting ready! Feel like a kid a Christmas.
-
Weather is "predicted" to be clear and low 70's. keep fingers crossed as it is Ohio and you never know but looks good so far!
Going for C license and hopefully B also over the weekend.
Staying at wilmington inn. Rita and i will be there friday for inspection.
. Anyone know if schedules are all the same as April? Inspection, etc.
bob #1123 Firebird

Check the ECTA site, I don't think anything has changed.
-
Inspections are scheduled to start Friday at noon. That is conditional on the course being prepared and race ready.
-
Be there in July.
Cheers

The Geezer2 has new spoilers - need to keep it hooked.
See you in a couple days.

If thats a Gurney flap on the back of the spoiler you need to make sure that it does not send the chute to the sky. Id also recomend plastic on the bottom of the air dam bc mr Turk will be on you if the metal is bouncing on the track. Other then that carry on. Looks good.
-
Does anyone have good address for gps directions to track in Wilmington?
thanks
Jeff

From the ECTA site;
2870 Old State Road 73
Wilmington, OH

zip code
45177

I believe the test for the front spoiler will be for two people to push down on the fenders. If they can make it hit the deck you will need to adjust. Hopefully you still have time to check and fix if needed before heading to the track but better knowing going in versus finding out in tech! I am loaded and heading out early tomorrow for the Wilmington Inn. Looking forward to a nice safe sunny weekend. Just hoping those winds don't gust again!
