Title: BGC class?
Post by: metalstorm on January 02, 2012, 04:46:50 PM
i believe my car fits this class best but it is an earlier year[1969] i have a rule book and have read that a vehicle can get bumpet to a class that best suits its design.so if someone could take a sec to give an opinion i would appreciate it.here are some specs.
1969 sport satellite, body mods are no rear seat, heater a/c removed, race seats, removeable steering wheel, fiberglass hood.that is it for body mods.the engine is an aftermarket block but factory look iron wedge, factory heads,8-71 supercharger with air to water intercooler with carbs/race gas.afff fire charger fire system[3.8 liter]8 gal fuel cell and batteries in trunk.all lights, horn, turn signals work, production bumpers/brackets on car still, full interior, door handles/panals,carpet.
i was looking at entering in the glown gas coupe class. Thanks for any help!
ps:as is the car should go 170 in the mile and i will work up from there as allowed from the beginning.

Pre-1982 cars run in the "classic" categories - you'd fit right in the Classic Blown Gas Coupe class - depending on your engine size, you'd run against folks like Jim Snyder and his "Salty Cuda" with a 226mph record in B/CBGC.
Note: you might have to perform major changes to roll structure, fire system, parachute, etc. to comply with "our" rule book.
Best of luck, and hope to see you on the salt!

thanks i was not sure a blower could be run in classic class.i am looking at the altered class also as i may get bumped to it.Mr Timney had just called and confirmed i could use the AFFF firecharger but it was not ideal.i did not expect him to call so soon and realy appreciate it.i called him to ask just about the fire system.
