Title: Tyre growth data Goodyear LSR D2283

Hi

Does anyone have tyre growth data for Goodyear D2283 23x5x15 tyres.
I got given some that is meant to be from Goodyear that seems a little weird, it shows the tyre as 9.8" radius @ rpm.

I'm mocking up a front wheel well & want to leave enough room but height is pretty important as I'm looking over the top of the wheel.

The data that i got with the tyres and is meant to be from Goodyear seems a little weird, it shows the tyre as 9.8" radius @ 0 rpm, a 23" tyre should be 11.5" @ 0 rpm.
It also shows 2.5" of growth & 200mph & no data above that, it seems odd for a 300mph tyre.
The dealer I bought the tyres off is closed till January 10 & I wanted to get my wheelwells made before then.

I will probably send my bodyshape over for some CFD analysis when I get it finalized.
Is a Solidworks 2006 loft ok?

Jon, At WOS, Richard Assens tyre (Goodyear) grew approx 25mm on radius at 200-220mph, and we found that the bike didnt handle very well, especially in a slight crosswind. My personal opion on this was the tyres pressure at 70psi was too high given the bikes weight,,, there is a lot more development (experiement) time required to make specific LSR (car) tyres work on motorcycles,,,,

Reprofiling was not a great success
Butch in CA , an associate of Ack , did mine and Richards
there is very little material to work with , and was told afterward  the tire grows a lot and doesn't reach its true shape till 250 or so
so a low speed cut will not necessarily run true at speed
Ours seemed to run fine
did several runs testing mine,
on a calm day Jims busa ran 181 and felt great
on the fairinged 750 it was less successful, only did 2 runs at WOS
one with big tail that was badly effected by 6mph side wind , and one with std tail that was even more effected by a 14mph side wind,
shoudn't have run at all but it looked like the quickest way back to the pits and i did want some info  :wink:
In Australia, try Stuckeys tires for shaving
I will be putting in an application for a DLRA rule change to allow shaved road tires
Untill we can get a dedicated motorcycle 300+mph tire everything else is just a compromise
and the best results i have seen in the last few years were Rich assens shaved road tires doing multiple 250-260mph runs without issue untill they were worn out

I've got CAD pictures of the original unshaved Avon Azaro ZR tires that went 225 @ Bonneville some years ago.  The Aramid belts were in such a way as to maintain a stock tire up to 267 mph per a (then) online performance chart.  The Azaros have changed to a new series and Avon no longer has construction drawings on their website.  Still, I think they are onto something.  If I document running a shaved set up on a power take off on the back of a tractor, will they be allowed?
