I am working on narrowing a Winters QC Grand National 5 on 5 rear axle for a LSR car.
I have no previous GN , QC experience.
Has anyone ran a GN flanged axle at B-ville?
Anything I should know or consider?

I could change tubes and run "street" style tubes / flanges... but I own these GN style tubes / flanges, and am hoping to keep costs down.

Thanks for your input.

Jeff, I am also building with a floater and was assured by several folks that they are fine and many others use them.

I am not by any means the last word on these but.... I looked seriously into using one in the lakester this year. What is for sale used is a rather "dazzling" array of variations. If you want to change to Ford style axle ends, it can be done too as these units are also made that way. You need to get axle shafts of the correct length with the splines to fit the differential and they assemble pretty much the same way as a Ford 9" will go together. Have fun.

Jeff,
I would go with the floater, for one thing, the axles are a lot less money to purchase.

Cool. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing some strange "lakes racing" issue. It is like another planet out there after all.

I have opened this Winters GN up, and I'm impressed. Quality piece.

I did speak with the Winters tech, and shortened GN axles are shelf items, in one inch increments. How smooth is that?
