Thanks, I did have fun...did'nt go that fast. Everything we tried made it go slower. Some pretty crappy gear shifting on my part on two runs. We had two decent runs. Did not break anything so we had a good weekend. Should be back at the shop about 4 am Monday.

Define "crappy" shifting. Slow, or wrong gears, or false neutrals? Slow isn't "crappy" -- ask Al Teague.

SSS Bill's #2100 Camaro has a Tremec Tranny and it is kinda Clunky/hurkey jerkey on the shifts,, 1 to 2 shift is worse.
Maybe costing him a few MPH on the rpm drops on the shifts.
I have offered my assistance to help him with a butter smooth tranny... even though we both run the same few classes,,, no open or soft records here,, it's good to run against someone...matter of fact he took one of my records last month then upped it by 1 mph again today...
Man it was fun today with no lines... I got 3 runs in with 2 long pit stops including a rear gear change in less than 3 hours with no rush and no more than a 5 minutes line.. could have made 5 runs but every chnage we made lost us 1 mph per change,, then we ran out of time to go back to Moring set up..

Originally the plugs read lean we riched it up from 71's to 73's and left the 78's in. It slowed down 1 mph. The car responded when we took the timing up from 38 to 42. We went 167.xxx for a 1 mph bump to the D record. the plugs now read rich so we went back to the 71's jets and left the 78's in. Then it slowed down 2 mph. Switched to D/CBGALT It went 166 again but the record was 138 so we picked up some points for that. Both days I thought I had forgotten how to shift gears but we determined the trans is not shifting properly...so only half diver error...I will give the Tremec credit for the other two missed shifts. After that we loaded up and headed South. Ran over something and cut a inside trailer tire...luckily on 6 miles from a 24 hour T/A Truck Service Center. The guys there were great and after showing them the trailer and car we got our inside tire mounted and swapped for $48.00! Our 9 PM arrival is now 1:25 am.
Charles, I will be talking to you about the transmission. Thank you are always very helpful.
We meet some great people...since we are looking for a car or two to share the hauler for the trip to Bonneville.
Bill

Great meeting you guys too. It will be great if we can hook up and share resources for Bonneville. Charles, we had two questionalble tires on the trailer...we shucked both of them on the ride home. That ok now we have all 8 good tires and two spares. Just took 4 hours longer to get home. Thanks for your advice I will be calliung but the first few days back I am booked solid so perhaps Wednesday or Thurs. We had fun, learned some things. Met some great people and now will focus on Loring and Bonneville. Plan: Cage upgrade Data system new trans and clutch...if I still miss gears we will upgrade to a new driver! Bill

Kix, I have 6 Tex 101A's at my disposal, I prefer the mag case, billet mid plate Tex T 10's.. with the "X" gear set.. but that is my opinion,,, I however do think Bill would be better off with the T101A...
However, even though I prefer the older Tex T10, I am going to have a spare T101A with overdrive ready for Bonneville in case we need it... with a QC rear an overdrive trans is not required.

Awesome! I agree totally... I have never driven anything easier to shift than the T101A. I think that trans gets us quite a few mph at Maxton because we have such little time not at full throttle. I hardly even blip the throttle out to about 80% for less than a quarter of a second and we are back to full throttle. I hope you can get Bill lined out... that car is beautiful and sounds so good I really want to see it haul A$$ !!! Bill: if you end up needing a trans let me know. I have a contact that builds transmissions for Cup and Nationwide teams and can get a good deal if they have any coming off lease. They would be completely gone through - but you have to take whatever gear sets they come with. Kix
