pretty stout winds all weekend, none of it in the right direction

thanks a bunch to Dan & Lydia coming down from Knoxville, Ryan and Bill making it from Chicago, Cal Bill from LA, Tom-ozonkiller from Arizona. Some long driving, yup.

big congrats to Dr Cheese for 213.2!!!!!!

I've been coming to the Mile since Oct 2003 watching JC & turbo coppertop battle wind and mechanical gremlins.
GREAT to see him finally get his T shirt  cheers

My green NA Busa ran 215.3 on Fri, then 212.0, Sat 213.3, 212.7, and finally 211.9 on Sun am.

Looking at the logs, the 211.9 was a rider perfect pass, 6500rpm+/- outa the hole, minor spinning, every gear spot on, AF=12.5-ish, crossed the line at 10,500+/-.
I was expected to see a 218 ticket.
211.9?Huh WTF??
figured bearings or valve seats giving it up and parked it. oh well, not a good test of Jim's head

Just now i looked at Accuweather history and saw for 9am:
- 6mph straight headwind
- baro = 29.73
- humidity = 100%
- temp 72F

also(thinking it over), on Sun ozonekiller was running 196-197 on his tweaked NA ZX14, about 5mph+/- off his normal speeds.
In our friendly rivalry, my Busa consistently runs about 15mph faster...

hmmm... maybe just bad air?Huh

I'll drop the pan & do a leakdown.
If all is well, i'll see Tom at mojave on April 10 & race him for beers on a 15mph handicap.  grin

It's hurt, 50% leakdown on all cyl (intakes). maybe clipped em when i went into the limiter when the button shifter didn't shift on my shakedown pass.

No April 10 Mojave for me, nope.

Argh. Tight clearances eh. At least now you have a mid-season Texas event to look forward to.

Sorry to hear about your motor Karl.  Hope you have her right by the May event.
