So to update this. We ran with the shafts set up as described above. It all worked great. Smooth as could be.
Traction was great too. We could accelerate hard from the top of 2nd gear through 4th with 675whp.
We ultimately ran 223mph out the back door and got the record. Thanks for the input guys    cheers
