Thanks Don,

It does go fast , for a 125.
147mph with 37-38hp, but with some Aero tweaks and a new motor we believe 160+ is possible at this years BUBs meet..
Two vertical steering levers link to a hub center steered front wheel. The blog has a few pictures of the steering in 'August 2006' although it has not been updated in quite a while.

Did you build your hub center steering or is it a commercially available piece?

Great looking 125c.c. bike....you indicated that you are planning on using a Rotax 125 engine....what model??  We have been using a Rotax for a couple of years ......47hp (gasoline) on the pump....have gone 143mph
one time only in a partial streamline chassis....it was a one way run only on fuel....ate the engine...am building a new chassis, for another go in the future with our spare engine.....am building the chassis to fit the early 1970 windtunnel proven Can-Am fairing....may have it out in 2012.....Good luck on your project it looks outstanding and with Rotax power it will go 160 plus mph.

Peter
I designed and built the Hub mechanism to fit into a 17" Marvic Magnesium wheel. The center hub area of the Marvic was bored out to fit all the bits.

Sound like you like the Rotax, good to hear. I had the motor built by an outfit in Canada that is very familiar with the Aprilia 125GP motors which were originally based on the Rotax. Not sure which model. It does have disc valve and the exhaust has a power valve with some Aprilia parts thrown in for good measure. On the motor dyno, located at an elevation of 5500ft it makes 49HP.
Which event do you run at?
Thanks for the encouragement.

Baron, we run our sidecar and have run our 125 at the BUB event.......it sounds like you have the same engine that we have been running.....it has been the basis for the Aprillia GP motor.....if possible try to get a hold of the special cylinder that Aprillia used......the engine is no longer made by Rotax but parts are still on the market from the Rotax importer in CA. (Tony Murphy)  When I was at the Rotax factory a few years back, I saw 55hp on the pump with the special cylinder and pipe......the pipe... made out of mag
can still be gotten from Nico Bakker at Bakker Framebouw in the Netherlands.
Best of luck with your bike, and we will see you at the 2011 BUB....(look for the Bakker Motorsports
trailer)
