The streamliner with a 430" Rodeck SB is at 16.5. Add 5% of the yellow stuff to compensate for the 5K feet between sea level and  B-Ville and you should be back at sea lavel HP. Trust me this is safe. We ran at Ascot for seven years (CRA champions two years, Davis / Wirth racing) and had no problem with a Rodeck at 16.0. on alcohol. I ran 15.0 on 92% in Jr. fuel in the 1966 with 60 degrees lead. Best ET 9.87 at 200 even with a 310 CI cast iron SB and cast iron heads. Looking back I think it would have been better to run 50 degrees. Not because it would be easier on the engine but I think it would have gone faster. Be brave. The Wonderful One

Dont wish to hijack this topic, quick question,,, what is the approximate HP% loss in a n/a engine between sea level and Bonnerville??

Standard atmospheric pressure is considered to be 29.92 in hg, the typical barometer at Bonneville due to altitude ranges from about 25.84 in Hg to 25.37 in Hg based on standard atmospheric tables. That implies that an NA engine will be down on power by about:

25.84/29.92 = 0.8636  down 13.64%
25.37/29.92 = 0.8479  down 15.2%

Without tipping his hand, Wonderful 1 is a forever Lions Dragsrip fixture, now streamliner builder.

Because of the Witness Protection Program nothing more can be divuldged.

On 9-27-08 we lost a great friend and fellow racer, he was the BEST, he helped anyone with anything at anytime.  His name is Dave Owen and he will be missed by all that knew him and I am glad to have met him.

Seeing him at Bonneville during 2008 Speedweek was the tops, Dave was in awe of the salt and as usual was there helping out anyone who asked..simply put we lost a great man who will be missed by all.

I think that Tim told me it was going to be a BFS (B Fuel Streamliner) and I think they are looking to run next year. I really haven't heard about it since I talked to Tim about a year ago or better. Maybe the "Wonderful one" will chime in and give us an update.
