I was primarily out on the Salt last week to document the Norton effort and Met Bo (one of the members here on his Bonneville with 12,000 rivits..Smiley), thought I'd stop in with a few pictures.

Thanks for posting the pictures Hawkenz - Its great to see the several photographers documenting the event.  Like when Jon and Ray document Speed Week and fill us in with the speeds achieved, its almost like being there.  This years BUB event was great, even with the little bit of rain early on, to see how much of an International flavor it has achieved is a testament to Denis's idea of a Motorcycle only event. Hats off to Delvene, Lennea, and all the BUB Volunteers for a fun - safe  event, with participants coming in from around the world to get a taste of the salt.

See ya next year - you bet we'll be there.    grin

Yes we were there Hawkenz, our 5th year.  We ran the old Gray Ghost again and qualified twice but were unable to back it up on the return runs.
He did get a new personal best of 140.555 - for a 36 year old Sportster running an OEM Zenith/Bendix carb, we went home happy with that speed for now. We are already planning for next year and what we can do to squeeze just a couple more H P out of the old Ghost and try for a mid/upper 140's mark.  I guess its that need for speed thing, or maybe its just that Salt Fever thing.

Hope you had as much fun as we did -  cheers

Same here Joe - was a pleasure meeting you and having a chance to talk about motor stuff. Man you sure did a great job of posting race results. One of these days I'd like to chat on the land line about the White Lightening you mentioned, I think it was the 89 ?

Jimbo,

I've been out three years now, I definitly have "Salt Fever",  looking forward to next year already..... rode by Bonneville to Bonneville, 620 miles from the Bay area w/ racing images dancing in my head the whole way out. I tend to see life in "stills"

Hawk, it was nice meeting you on the salt.  That Norton is impressive.  Will they be doing an article with your photos? - Bo
