Late April would be fine.

Or maybe we could get the sandpipers a room so they could hurry things up!

I don't know about northern Maine, but up here in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, it is not uncommon at all to have some snow still on the ground in late April.  Before you guys get too excited -- someone might ask a few locals about the "all-clear" date up there.

The weather is usually pretty nice in September, however we get more rain than late July/early August...but it's in the mid 60's here now.

Not that it is a vote, But Sept is probably doable, April probably not (look up ice out dates, etc) and the best solution is to have a longer event in Aug......my $.02

But wasn't the orginal concern about folks not being able to do Loring and Bonneville both because the dates were so close together?  BUB was early in Sept. and WOS is going on this week ....

Snow is usually gone weeks before ice out on lakes. You do want the event as late in the Spring as possible.
